Peaslee’s VT Potatoes
is located in picturesque Guildhall, VT. We are nestled between the Green
Mountains of VT and the White Mountains of NH, in the Connecticut River
Valley.
This farm has been
featured in many magazines such as Vermont Life, New York Times, American Agriculturist and
White Mountain Echoes. We have been featured on WCAX TV and have been
photographed by many including Roger Irwin and the late Winston Pote.
As a 3rd
Generation family farm owned and operated since 1930, we believe in the
quality of our product especially since our name is on the bag! We “bag to
order” and hand select to maintain the highest level of freshness and
quality!
As a diversified farm,
we farm approximately 500 acres: 70 acres potatoes, 60 field corn, 300
grass hay, 60 grains, 5 sweet corn, and 5 pumpkins. Our philosophy is that by rotating
our crops we can improve, restore and maintain soil health. We follow a
proper nutrition management plan based on our soil types and soil test
recommendations.
We plant in early May,
irrigate when needed to assure quality and size; Cultivate 2-3 times a
season to build a proper “hill”; Harvest in early September; Bag and
distribute September to May, just in time to start over again! Please feel
free to come and visit us to see the process.
